StarHub How-to’s: Improve Your Wireless Broadband Connection at Home

Hello. Welcome to StarHub user guide. We’ll show you How to improve Wireless Connection at home. 


This involves the usage on a combination of structured cabling as well as wifi extenders. Some basic tips to take note:


  • Position your wireless router, modem router, or access point in a central location

  • Position the router off the floor and away from walls and metal objects (such as metal file cabinets), ideally on a high shelf 


Step 1

After setting up your home network, a typical set-up would look something this

To have better and wider wireless coverage, use the wifi extender as illustrated below to boost the signal between the wireless home gateway and other devices:

Solution for dwelling that has 2 levels, please refer to total solution between level 1 and 2. This illustrates the combination use of wifi extender and structure cabling

my internet speed is very slow. can someone come and fix the problem

Hi @user_add860, sorry to hear that you're having a slow internet connection. Just to check, what router are you using? Are you on a wired or wireless connection? Please try to reboot both your ONT and router to see if the issue persists.
