Postpaid plan switching to sim only plan with no contract

Good Day! Just want to ask the proper procedure for switching to sim only plan with no contract. I'm already eligible for re-contract since July2020 and my contract end date is November 2020. Can i already switch to sim only plan or do i have to wait before my contract end date? Hope to hear from you soon.

Hi @rai_01, thanks for your continued support to StarHub. Please be informed that if you are on a 2-year plan contract, you'll need to finish your contract first before switching to our SIM Only Plans. Once your contract expires, you can switch to any of our SIM Only plans via our Online Store

Hi Carla, thank you for the reply. Does it mean that i should do my re-contract on the last day of my contract/billing cycle? Also, what is the main difference or advantage of signing in with sim only plan with a contract(aside from being tied for 1-yr) vs without a contract?

Let me just clarify that, you will be eligible for recontract once you fulfil at least 21 months of your existing 2 years contract. There are promotions that are exclusive for SIM Only 1-Year plan. Currently, there is a promotion valid till 11 Sep 2020 offering FREE 12-month Unlimited Talktime promotion for 4G SIM Only 1-year plans. There's also a bill rebate promotion valid till 11 Sep 2020 for 4G $50 SIM Only 1-year plans. You may check here other promotions for our SIM Only plans.

Hi! I'm 21 months into my contract already. And the Starhub APP shows "exclusive SIM only plan deals for you". Do I have to fulfill full 24 months contract period? Or I can switch to SIM only plan now? Thanks!

Unfortunately you have to wait for your contract to end up to the last day before you can switch to sim only plan. For example, your contract ends today, you can only change to sim only plan tomorrow. This is what happened to me very recently(last week) when my contract ends and i shift to sim only plan.

Thanks @rai_01. But my APP shows "exclusive SIM only plans for you only". If I cant switch to SIM only at 21 months, why do Starhub have this invite offer in the app for me? lol

You can try but i doubt it, the online system won't let you do it, that's what happened to me when i tried coz i also have this kind of notification in the app. If it works for you then good you =)

Hey guys, planning to switch over to SIM only plan after i finish my 2 year contract. I just want to clarify if Im able to reuse my current number over to the SIM only plan?

Hi @Colacoke, warmest welcome to GreenR Community. Yes, once you recontract to the SIM Only plan you'll still be using the same number and SIM card. Here are our current SIM Only plans you could sign up to.

Hi @Carla_P , my contract expired on 30 Mar 2021. 

1. I also wish to switch to SIM only plan ASAP. Should I trigger the switch on 30 Mar or on 1 Apr 2021?

2. Do I still need to pay additional $5/month for the caller number display after switching to the SIM only plan? Is there any promotion available that can waive this additional charges?

Hi @Kelvin Ty, yes, it's better to make the switch on the day after your contract expires. For the Caller Number Display, it is only free for customers on our Mobile+ plans.
