Nokia WIFI Beacon 1 connectivity issue

Hi, I seem to have problems with my Home WIFI and I am using the Nokia WIFI Beacon 1.  I just moved into my new residence 2 months ago and installed Starhub broadband router with 3 Nokia WIFI Beacon 1 for my place.  However, I noticed that the WIFI always seems to drop from my laptop and my HP printer and sometimes from my smart TV when on WIFI connection.  My printer will not print and I have to restart my HP printer each time for it to print.  My laptop will lapse if I leave it unattended for a few hours.  I tried to troubleshoot using a mobile WIFI (Netgear) and notice my printer is very stable with this connection.  It was able to print via WIFI whenever I want to without having to restart my printer.  Appreciate some advice what to do with this problem.  Thanks very much!

Hi @user_52f144, I'm sorry to hear that you're encountering a connectivity issue with your Nokia Beacon 1. Please try to reboot your ONT modem and router with the following steps.

  • Unplug both your router and your modem (it should be your Optical Network Terminal) from the power outlet.
  • Wait at least 30 seconds before you plug in only the modem and power it on.
  • Now, wait at least 60 seconds before doing the same for your router.
  • Once your router’s on, wait at least 2-4 minutes (or simply check the router LED status to ensure your router is up) before you re-test your WiFi connection with your phone, laptop or tablet.

Also, let me share that there are different factors that might be affecting your WiFi coverage. You may refer to this article from Nokia for more information.

I heard from my printer supplier that my wifi printer has been loosing connectivity because of my Nokia Beacon Mesh. Is it true? Anyone has some suggestion to resolve the connectivity issue? Thanks

Hi @user_cc8b7b, sorry for the inconvenience this has caused. Have you tried the steps I've mentioned above to see if the issue persists?

Yes I have tried restarting both router and ONT but not exactly the steps. I will try again following the steps. Thanks

Hi @user_81ebc4, sorry for the inconvenience this has caused. Just to check, does the issue persists after you replace your router with the Google Nest WiFi?
