Issue with 1G fiber broadband speed testing, only 100Mbps with Nokia Wifi beacon

I installed my new plan with StarHub for 1G fiber broadband with a Nokia Wifi beacon. The internet is unstable and speed test around 100Mbps or less than 300Mbps is it normal for a wireless connection?

 

Until now Starhub still can not fix my problem. Anyone who knows how to resolve this issue, please advise.

 

Currrently, I use CAT6 cable.

Hi @Wonder123, sorry for the inconvenience this has caused. Have you tried to reboot the Optical Network Terminal (ONT) and the router to refresh the internet connection? Aside from restarting your ONT, have you tested your connection using a LAN cable to your laptop?

The technician came down and still can not resolve it. All reset changed the whole set already. The speed test still very slow. Who else know how to fix this issue?

Is this still an unresolved issue? 

 

Just received my pair of Nokia Beacon 1 routers. Saw a lot of issues with the use of the router by folks here. So i am a bit worried to install them. 

 

Please advise.

Not at all. the issue has become my problem that I have to email back and forth with Nokia wifi myself for more than 2 weeks. The best advice from them is I have to move to sit next to Nokia beaconLess than 0.5 meters. So many tests have been done over the past 2 weeks but the wireless still very bad. Regret changing to Starhub.

I have the same problem as yours on the 2.4Ghz wifi, I spent hour to test it by turning off the 5Ghz wifi and moving the Nokia Beacon 1 around my living room for different devices. The TV just cannot detect the wifi even they are in the same room unless they are side-by-side. Worst of all, Starhub asked me to contact the customer support of Nokia for the warranty issue.

So i should just sell my BEACON routers, i am surprised why Starhub continue to push them if they are not effective.

Well, you can give it a try first maybe you Beacon has no issue like me. I am just the unlucky one who unluck with this unresolved issue.Smiley Tongue

This is a basic router and not the one to get in 2020.It does have issues like 2nd beacon connecting to main unit. Replaced but problem persist.Uploaded vid on YouTube on it. My niece just told me, voice call over WhatsApp/ downloads ,gets cut.But for myself no such issues...But loading in YouTube, does lag abit.

Guys, try to separate the bands in the Web Interface. Dont use band steering.

2021 and i am still having this issue, an ethernet cable from root beacon to AP beacon and my speed is capped to 100mbps with a wired connection to my machine, wifi connection to AP beacon is still faster.

i had mine installed today also. I also run the speed test on okla, and it was showing below 100mb, only on their app showing over 800mb speed. sound weird.. but using now to download heavy file no issue.. any pro here knowing why?
